Highlights

Tauranga
Tauranga is a harbourside city in the Bay of Plenty region on New Zealand's North Island. It hosts historic buildings like the Elms Mission Station, an 1847 Georgian-style home. A bridge over the harbour connects Tauranga to Mount Maunganui, a beach town with hot saltwater pools and an extinct namesake volcano with winding walking paths. Offshore is the active volcano White Island, accessible by helicopter or boat.

Itinerary

09:00

Drive over to the stunning Skyline Rotorua complex sitting high on the slopes of Mt Ngongotaha. Here you will experience a scenic cable car gondola ride up to the top of the station to enjoy the impressive panoramic views across the city and the lake below.

With free time to explore you will have the option to take your thrill-seeking to another level.

Why not whizz down the mountain on the luge or zip line for that adrenalin buzz? Invented in New Zealand, luge is a part go-cart and part toboggan, Great fun for all ages and payable locally.

If you prefer something a little more relaxed you can get a bite to eat in the cafe, look around the shops or taste a number of exquisite wines and cheeses at Rotorua’s only winery. (payable locally)

Journey back to the city as you discover the Geothermal famous in this area. With boiling springs, bubbling mud pools, and steaming lakes. Take a photo stop at the Government Gardens and lakefront before heading back towards Tauranga.

Take a scenic journey back to the port to the Kaituna River at Okere falls, a deep and narrow gorge popular for white water rafting. Enjoy a photo stop before we make our final stop at the Kiwifruit Orchard. Here you will see and taste one of the most famous products of New Zealand, The Kiwi!

With the tour now at an end, you will be taken back to the cruise port in plenty of time to meet your ship.
