Take to the saddle of your electric bike as you cycle to the most important highlights in Gibraltar.
From the EBike Centre, we will head around the northern face of the Rock to the east side and make our first stop at the picturesque Mediterranean fishing village of Catalan Bay. From Catalan Bay, we will pass through Dudley Ward Tunnel before arriving at Europa Point, Gibraltar’s most southern tip. This is the home of the Lighthouse and during this stop, you will enjoy magnificent views of the Moroccan coastline.
Other highlights along our way will include-
Shrine of Our Lady of Europe– The church is dedicated to Our Lady of Europe, the Catholic patroness of Gibraltar
Pillars of Hercules Monument– monument depicting the modern and ancient worlds
Nature Reserve – The tour includes your entrance to Upper Rock Nature Reserve and all of the attractions that lie within.
The Upper Rock Nature Reserve was established in 1993 under the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s category Ia and was last extended in 2013.
You can stand on top of the Rock and feel like Europe is at your feet as you can see views across 3 countries and 2 continents. Don’t stand still for too long as the Barbary Macaques like to get up close and personal. These fury friends have heaps of energy and will certainly have you entertained.
Attractions within the reserve include:
Queens Balcony – Where Queen Elizabeth II stood to observe the city of Gibraltar on her last visit in 1954
St Michael’s Cave – An incredible naturally formed cavern now used as an auditorium for musical performances
O’Hara’s Battery– Gibraltar’s highest point at 424m (1400 ft)!
Skywalk– A glass balcony suspended 340 meters directly above sea level and opened by none other than Mark Hamill, ‘Luke Skywalker himself. Higher than the Shard in London, this viewpoint offers spectacular panoramic views.
Overlook Airfield observe the traffic driving across the runway to and from the border with Spain and perhaps see a flight arrive or depart
Finish the tour with a stroll through the square that takes its name from the British-built Grand Casemates, a casemate and bombproof barracks at the northern end of the square completed in 1817, now the city’s vibrant café and restaurant scene.
