According to a local legend, Nakhchivan was founded by the biblical Noah: after the Flood, the Ark washed up on a mountain near modern Nakhchivan. Various sources give the approximate date of the city's formation as 1500 BC, and the city was first mentioned in the work of the Greek scientist Ptolemy "Geography" in the second century BC. So Nakhchivan has a long and rich history and is one of the oldest cities in Azerbaijan. You have a great opportunity to explore the city and its surroundings on our two-day tour.
