Kruja is one of the most important cities of Albania - the former capital city of the middle ages. Albania's national hero Skanderbeg was born here, he and his forces defended Kruja from the Ottomans until his death, and people of Albania are proud of him till now, although it was over 500 years ago. We will spend a day in this unique old city listening to the stories behind the buildings because this place shouldn't be missed!

Castle of Kruja
The Krujë castle is a castle in the city of Krujë, Albania and the center of Skanderbeg's rebellion against the Ottoman Empire.
Kruja
Krujë is a town and a municipality in north central Albania. Located between Mount Krujë and the Ishëm River, the city is only 20 km north from the capital of Albania, Tirana. Krujë was inhabited by the ancient Illyrian tribe of the Albani.
Murad Bey Mosque
The Bazaar Mosque, also known as Murad Bey mosque or Varosh mosque, is a historic mosque in Krujë, Albania. It was built in 1533 and is a Cultural Monument of Albania today. It is situated in the historic bazaar of Kruje, known as Akce Hisar in Ottoman times. Built by Ottoman Albanian beys, the mosque got closed during the Communist dictatorship and its typical minaret got torn down. The mosque was reopened in 1991.
National Museum George Kastrioti Skanderbeg
The National Museum "George Castrioti Skanderbeg", also known as the Skanderbeg Museum or the Kruja Museum, is located in Krujë and is one of the most important and visited museums in Albania. The museum was built at the end of the 70's and was inaugurated on November 1, 1982.
