Gwongeumseong Fortress
Gwongeumseong Fortress is a 3,500 meters long fortress located about 800 meters above the sea level in the middle of Seoraksan National Park. The walls of the fortress are not much left at the moment, but visitors can see the sites. It is not known exactly when this fortress was built, but there is a legend that two men named Gwon and Geum had built the fortress to protect their families and people. Visitors can go to Gwongeumseong Fortress by trekking or taking a cable car from Sogongwon area in Seoraksan National Park.
Mt Seorak National Park
Seoraksan National Park is a national park in South Korea. It listed by the South Korean government with UNESCO as a tentative World Heritage site. It was also the first Korean national park to be named under the National Park Law in 1970. Located on the east-central Korean peninsula, the reserve includes the Dinosaur Ridge, Injegun, Yanyanggun, and Sokchosi. It is popular with tourists and nature enthusiasts. It is home to many rare taxa of flora and fauna. The reserve has an area of 163.6 square kilometres (63.2 sq mi) and includes many mountain peaks measuring over 1,200 metres above sea level. The park is valued for its floral diversity. There are about 1,013 species of plants known, with 822 vascular plant species. Pine trees such as the Siberian pine are abundant on the southern slope while the northern slopes of the mountain range are characterized by oaks and other deciduous trees.

Sinheungsa Temple
Sinheungsa Temple was first founded under the name Hyangseongsa by Monk Jajang in the 6th year of Queen Jindeok during the Silla dynasty (652). The temple had been damaged several times before it moved to its current site, instructed by monks Yeongseo, Yeonok, and Hyewon who all had envisioned the location in their dreams. The temple was said to have been blessed by god and was renamed Sinheungsa Temple. The temple houses several treasures, including the temple’s 1400-year-temple bell, a bronze steamer bestowed by King Sunjo, and the three-stone pagoda designated as Treasure No. 443 among others.
