Highlights

Ayung river
The Ayung River is the longest and deepest river in Bali. It flows from the mountains in the north and right into the ocean off the southern coast. Most of the river flows through jungle and rice paddies. Ayung is a popular rafting destination. The total length is 68.5 km. The river remains deep even during the rainy season. It flows through mountains and plains, so the speed of the flow can vary. Ayung plays an important role in local agriculture as it is part of the irrigation systems. The water is used for irrigation of rice fields, coffee plantations, vegetable beds.
Ubud
The town of Ubud, in the uplands of Bali, Indonesia, is known as a center for traditional crafts and dance. The surrounding Ubud District’s rainforest and terraced rice paddies, dotted with Hindu temples and shrines, are among Bali’s most famous landscapes. Ancient holy sites include the intricately carved Goa Gajah (“Elephant Cave”) and Gunung Kawi, with its rock-cut shrines.
